Mostly are used in water, gas and oil. When inquiry, it is better to offer your medium, we could suggest materials and valves type for clients.

Q

Do you have any real pictures of the equipment?

Yes, we have.

Q

What are the quarter turn valves?

Ball valve, Butterfly Valve, and Plug valve are rotary motion control valves. They just need a quarter turn to come into action.

Q

Can ball valves regulate medium?

Standard ball valves are primarily designed for on/off control rather than precise flow regulation. However, certain specialized designs (e. g. , V-port ball valves) can provide limited flow adjustment capabilities.

Q

What are the advantages of ball valves?

Simple structure, compact size, low fluid resistance; excellent sealing performance, high-pressure resistance; rapid opening/closing (90° rotation), ideal for frequent operations.

Q

How to repair leaks in ball valves?

Check and replace aged or damaged O-rings; regrind or replace valve seats; ensure secure connection between the valve stem and ball.

Q

What's the flow direction of the valves?

Ball Valve and gate valve are bi-directional valves, globe valve, check valve and y strainer have arrow on valve body to indicate direction.

Q

Can you give some introduce of the Check Valve?

Yes, sure. Check Valve is unidirectional valve, also called one way valve, non-return valve. Because medium flow decide its direction. It has swing type, lift type(piston and ball), vertical type, butterfly type. Wafer type check valve has three types, spring return type, single disc type and double disc type. Anyway, could choose valve type according to medium, pressure and temperature. Joepai Valve will give you the best suggestions.

Q

What's the difference of gate valve and globe valve?

Gate valve is bi-directional valve, globe valve in single way valve and has fixed direction when install. And globe valve has better sealing than gate valve, when globe valve close, fluid medium add pressure on disc to keep better sealing. Gate Valve wedge is parallel with flange, when close, both side fluid medium add pressure on wedge.

Q

What's the difference between rising stem and non-rising stem of gate valve?

The rising stem gate valve can be seen from the appearance whether the valve is closed or open. The lead screw can be seen while the non-rising stem gate valve can not. Non-rising stem gate valve handwheel will go and up when rotate handwheel, rising stem gate valve will not. And the rising stem gate valve requires a larger installation space because of the stem; the height of the non-rising stem gate valve is small, and it will not take up too much space during installation.

Q

How do knife gate valves differ from standard gate valves?

Knife gate valves use blade-like knives to cut through media containing particles or fibers. They feature a more compact design, lower flow resistance, and are suited for high-viscosity fluids, but their sealing surfaces are prone to wear.

Q

What's the type of butterfly Valve?

Generally speaking, for connection ends, butterfly valve has lug type, wafer type, double flange type; for design structure, butterfly valve has concentric type, double eccentric type, triple eccentric type.

Q

What's the differences between stainless steel and brass fire hydrants?

Stainless Steel: High corrosion resistance, ideal for harsh environments (e. g. , coastal areas);
higher cost. Brass: Good pressure tolerance but prone to oxidation/dezincification in moisture; lower cost and easier machining.

Q

How does valve material affect pressure resistance?

Cast iron valves: ≤16 bar; Cast steel valves: ≥25 bar.

Q

Which fire valves are suitable for extreme cold environments?

Stainless steel or ductile iron to prevent brittle failure.

Q

What are the pros/cons of butterfly valves vs. gate valves in fire protection systems?

Butterfly valves: Lightweight & quick operation, but less sealing; Gate valves: Better sealing but bulky & slower.

Q

Do fire valves require regular maintenance? What is the recommended interval?

Inspect seals, lubricate parts, and clear blockages every 6-12 months.

Q

What is a fire booster and what is its primary function?

A fire booster is designed to enhance water pressure in fire protection systems, ensuring adequate pressure and flow for hydrants or sprinklers during emergencies. It is critical in high-rise buildings, industrial zones, or areas with insufficient water supply

Q

What certifications or standards are required for fire booster valves?

In Australia, fire boosters must comply with local standards like AS 2941 (Fixed Fire Pump Installations). International certifications (e. g. , UL/FM) may be required for specific applications to ensure reliability

Q

What are the environmental requirements for installing a fire booster?

Avoid extreme temperatures, moisture, or corrosive environments. Stainless steel is recommended for coastal areas to resist salt spray

Q

What key parameters should be considered when purchasing a fire booster?

Key parameters: max pressure (Bar), flow rate (L/min), material (Brass/stainless steel), energy consumption, and noise levels

Q

Where are union ball valves used?

Union ball valves (with union connections) are widely used in piping systems requiring frequent disassembly or maintenance.

Q

What is the main difference between the union ball valve and ordinary ball valve?

Union ball valves have union connections (threaded or flanged) at both ends, allowing quick disassembly without cutting pipes. Ordinary ball valves are typically fixed by welding or one-piece threading, making disassembly difficult.

Q

What is a fluorine-lined valve? What are its structural characteristics?

A fluorine-lined valve is a valve with a lining of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or other fluoroplastics on its internal surfaces (e. g. , body, ball, seals). Its structural feature is using fluoroplastic’s corrosion resistance to protect the metal body from corrosive media.

Q

What occasions are fluorine-lined valves mainly used for?

They are used for highly corrosive media like strong acids, alkalis, and organic solvents

Q

What is the highest temperature that fluorine-lined valves can withstand?

It depends on the lining material:PTFE lining:Typically ≤150°C (short-term up to 180°C). PFA lining: Higher resistance, up to 200°C.
Exceeding these limits may cause softening or delamination.

Q

What are the features of fully welded ball valves?

Fully welded ball valves are permanently fixed to pipelines by welding, offering superior sealing and pressure resistance for critical high-pressure applications.

Q

What are the advantages and disadvantages of fully welded ball valves?

Advantages:Zero leakage risk with excellent sealing;High structural strength for pressure and shock resistance;Long lifespan and low maintenance. Disadvantages:Non-detachable; repairs require cutting the pipeline;Professional welding skills needed for installation.
