The ball "floats" within the valve cavity; it is supported by two valve seats but has no fixed shaft at the lower end. When the valve is closed, the valve stem, driven by the handle or actuator, applies downward pressure, pushing the ball tightly against the sealing seat at the outlet end, thus forming a seal.The floating ball valves with their excellent sealing performance, simple structure, low flow resistance, and quick operation, have become one of the most common and preferred valve types in many industries, including petroleum, chemical, water treatment, power, and light industry.
